Originally from Russia and Siberia, the Samoyed is a very intelligent dog with an ideal temperament, especially for elderly people. However, they can sometimes be a bit too energetic for very old people. One of the downsides about this dog is that they too shed quite a lot.

The beautiful Hokkaido dog originates all the way from Japan. Their gorgeous colors range from black, white to red or tan. Hokkaido’s have said to truly be a man’s best friends which is why they would make the perfect pet for seniors. In addition to all these great things, Hokkaido’s are superb guard dogs and can be remarkably protective of their owners at all times.
