The Bulldog is an amiable dog underneath its gruff appearance. While they have a shorter lifespan on our list than others, it does not make them any less of a great companion. The Bulldog loves to shower his owner with their love, and they don’t need much exercise. However, you have to keep an eye out for their diet since they are not as active as other breeds.

Labs are known to be friendly and smart dogs, which is why they make great companions for seniors, provided they can get all the exercise they need. They need to have a large room for a large dog to be able to move around. So, we don’t think it’s a good idea to keep them in a small apartment unless you can give them a nice yard that they’ll definitely enjoy. A loyal and loving breed that makes a great watchdog is the Labrador Retriever.
