Keeping the key close
Following the events of that night, her father made it a point to have the key to the shed with him at all times in order to avoid repeat catastrophes. Her mother was unaware that the original key was missing from the keychain because her father had replaced it with a different key and hung it on the same keychain as a diversion. Abby, on the other hand, made it a point to watch her father’s every move.
