Making His Decision
In an effort to conceal the wallet, Malachi dashed outside into the darkness. He knew what to do with the wallet after seeing his siblings’ reactions; he needed to try to track down the owner so he could return it. Seeing his siblings yelling for him, he sought a bush and swiftly hid the wallet under the earth. Hopefully, that would be enough to allow him time to think of what to do.

Malachi heard his mother shout for everyone to congregate inside for supper just as he was about to finish burying the wallet. He hurried inside after wiping the dirt off his hands to try to cover up what he had been doing. He hoped his siblings would keep quiet about the wallet, but just in case, he prepared for a heated argument at the dinner table.
